Aims And Objective

  1. Create awareness, among key policymakers in both public and private institutions to recognize the essential role of food safety in the production, preparation, manufacturing, preparation, distribution, storage and sale of food and food products

  2. Assist the Government of Nigeria, identify, attract and mobilize investments and appropriate technologies for the agro-allied industry, especially for Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises.

  3. Strengthen collaboration and coordination between various stakeholders involved in each of the sectors of the food supply chain (Farm -to-Table) to prevent, detect and respond to foodborne diseases

    The Forum will be held over 2 days and consist of an Opening Session and 3 Technical Sessions. The Technical Sessions will focus on: National and International Food Safety Governance; Nigeria Value Chain Improvements; Industry Engagement, Investment, and Technology in Food Safety.
    EXPECTED OUTCOMES

    The Nigeria Food Safety and Investment Forum will bring together high level representatives and stakeholders engaged in food safety governance and the food industry within and outside the country.  It is expected that at the end of the conference participants will be exposed to:

    1. Latest developments in national food safety policies, regulatory frameworks, and challenges in food safety.
    2. Best food safety practices and identification future industry capacity needs especially the SMEs to meet national and international standards
    3. Identify areas of cooperation and collaboration between the various sectors of the food supply chain that can lead to greater investments especially for SMEs.
