About Us

United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability and works in close partnership with FAO and WHO on issues relating to Food Safety. UNIDO is implementing the EU-UNIDO-FGN National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) Project for Nigeria whose over-arching objective is to improve the Quality, Safety, Integrity and Marketability of Nigerian goods and services and remove technical barriers to trade. Within the context of the NQI Project, it is expected that Nigeria will strengthen its food safety governance and build its food safety practices along each sector of the food supply chain (Farm-to-Table) to meet International Best Practices.
